Kakinada, Dec 30th: A review meeting was held on development and protective measures of Scheduled castes at district collectorate on Tuesday. The National Schedule Caste Commission Director, Mr. V. Elisha organized the review meeting with the concerned officers in the court hall.
In the meeting he discussed about the issue of extending the time frame for filing the charge sheets by police against the atrocity cases reported on Scheduled Caste. This proposal has come to take up investigations in a more comprehensive way. He ordered all the department officers to take necessary steps for the development measures for the welfare of the SC’s.
He also revealed that some complaints were received from Scheduled caste organizations about the non acceptance of cases by the police on the ground of lack of evidence. He directed the district administration to take appropriate steps regarding the issue.
District industries have sanctioned 674 units to SC entrepreneurs out of which only 37 units were grounded till now. The director has reviewed on this issue and directed the industries department to impress upon bankers for clearing the pending projects.
