Kakinada, Feb 11th: A review meeting on the availability of water to the second rabi crop was organize by district collector on Wednesday. All the revenue and agricultural department officers attended the meeting that took place at district collectorate. Speaking on the occasion collector showed displeasure over the work of the officers and warned them not to delay the works in future. He revealed that there was scarcity of water in 12 mandals and asked the officers to take measures to provide the same. He also warned the officers to take severe against them if they fail to do the works in time.
Senior engineer of irrigation, Mr K.V.S.L.N Raju also presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion he disclosed the details of water required for rabi crop and the present availability of water resources in Godavari and through other sources. He said that nearly 4.36 lakh acre was taken up for cultivation for second crop which requires 40 tmc of water. He disclosed that out of the required 40 tmc, 18 tmc was only supplied to the needs. Efforts were also made to supply the remaining water through other sources.
