Corporation Officers made sudden inspection on Hotels, Restaurants, Bakeries and Sweet shops in Kakinada. Almost every hotel and sweet shop are supplying preserved food items. Officers observed that Fishes, Meat, Oils and masala powders are preserved in thermocool boxes. Lot of things came into notice due to sudden inspection on this Tuesday and Wednesday. This Wednesday morning, Commissioner GSN Murthy along with his staff made sudden inspection of restaurants and sweet stalls. Firstly Commissioner inspected Bhavani Quality Kottaiah Sweet stall in Main Road. Preparation of all eatables was done on the top floor and the kitchen room was very dirty, unhygienic and preserved ingredients were used. Looking at this, Commissioner became angry and he immediately directed Revenue officers to pass 2% income tax on this shop. He said that building was constructed without applying B.P.A.S. Hence, they seized the kitchen room immediately. Later they inspected Kumar Biscuits, Jaya residency of Main road which are also in the same condition and hence they passed notices.
