Rajahmundry, Dec 4^th: Government is planning to setup 11 special Residential Bridge Centers (RBC) for the children in the age group between 0 and 15 to avail the formal education. The project has been taken by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan authorities. This is to improve the academic skills of physically handicapped children.

      The physically challenged children cannot be enrolled in the normal RBC schools as they need special teachers with special learning and teaching aids. The Government is keeping track on the children who are mentally and physically challenged and will help to improve the mental caliber.

     Out of 11 RBC’S three will be located at Amalapuram and the rest at Ravulapalem, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Korukonda, Razole, Peddapuram and Rajanagaram. Nearly 50 students are expected to pursue education in these schools. The teachers will be given special training to improve their skills in teaching the challenged children.

    These special RBC will be commencing from the next academic year. Special PET classes will also be taken to the children for their regular exercise. SSA Project manager Y. Rishikesh said that the government has taken up the project to provide better education to the physically challenged children and pave the way for their bright future.
