The Meteorological Department of India has announced that the severe cyclonic storm 'Lehar' in the Bay of Bengal has weakened into a deep depression and lay centred at about 120 km east-southeast of Machillipatnam and 160 km south of Kakinada. They had withdrew the cyclone warning as it weakened into deep depression, much to the relief of the people in coastal regions which feared devastation. But the rainfall has continued at some places in the district. The fishermen asked to venture into the sea only after Friday. Still, the agriculture fields & coconut trees in Konaseema region were mostly destroyed due to the continuous rains & squally winds in these days. However, the people in EGDt were taking breath freely after this announcement.
