Kakinada, Oct 6th: Number of strikes took place at collectorate on Monday. Many victims across the district came to meet the district collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and submitted their petitions
Kadiyam mandal president did strike regarding the home sites which were to be given to the poor people. He said that, the police arrested many inhabitants in Kadiyam area and made them forcibly vacate the Devastanam Lands. He also added that, the government is not providing lands to the poor people even though they are declared to do so. Later they submitted their letter to the collector. Members of the Prajasangam also took part in the strike.
Peddapudi mandal people made dharna under the leadership of “All India Farmers Labour Union” that the government should provide house sites to the poor people. The president of the party Venkateswarlu commented that the government is giving promises but they are not standing on their words.
Cycle repairing workers union also made strike saying that the government should give subsidiary loans to them and also help them in providing various facilities that will be given to the labour. Later they submitted their petition to the collector.
