Kakinada, Dec 31st: The Kakinada Sea Port Limited (KPSL), one of the famous minor deep water ports in the country has achieved a record level cargo handling of 10.60 lakh tonne in the month of December for the 2009-10 financial year. This highest cargo handling among all others.
Speaking to media, the KPSL chief executive officer, Mr. Y.S Prasad said that the port had set the record because of the handling of nearly six lakh tonnes of coal, fertilizers and iron ore in the month of December 2009 alone. The ports target of this financial year was to reach handling of 100 lakh tonne of cargo, the chief executive officer added.
