Kakinada, July 13th: Revenue Divisional Officer and sub-divisional magistrate, Mr. G.C Kishore Kumar, recommended action against the staff of the Manjeru Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) in Kajuluru mandal of East Godavari for negligence of duties, affecting the interests of the farming community. He recommended action on PACS staff for missing pattadar passbooks of six farmers of Manjeru Village.
The Farmers pleaded their pass books for agricultural loans and after due clearance of the loan amount, the PACS staff failed to return their passbooks stating they were not traceable. The victims submitted a petition to the RDO under e-parishkaram, the online grievance cell started by the East Godavari administration, requesting restoration of passbooks as they had paid their dues to the PACS and were being denied fresh loans for not able to submit those passbooks.
RDO ordered for an inquiry over the issue in which it was stated that the passbooks were not handed over to the present secretary by the previous PACS secretary. He ordered the Kajuluru tahsildar to issue new passbooks to farmers to meet their needs in getting loans. The RDO on Monday recommended the DCO, East Godavari, to take disciplinary action against the staff.
