Kakinada, Aug 9th: Kakinada revenue division office became the first one in Andhra Pradesh to be awarded ISO: 9001 quality certification for its public utility services. It is one of the few revenue divisions in India which won the global recognition, on four counts- land administration, magisterial functions, Right to Information Act (RTI) and public grievances.
Addressing media persons here on Saturday, RDO G.C. Kishore Kumar said his officers and staff were trained in quality management, the office was modernizing its works on corporate lines and the quality parameters were evaluated by ISO auditors from Hyderabad. The accreditation was done by Accreditation Service for Certification Bodies (Europe) Limited, UK and certification by Institute of Quality Certification Services (India).
The ISO auditors were satisfied with the way government lands were protected and their records maintained in the divisional office, issue of pattadar passbooks and title deeds, restoration of assigned lands to original beneficiaries in cases of violation of the assignments and land acquisition for the purpose of house construction for weaker sections.
