Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Dr. Duvvuri Subbarao desired that East Godavari District must take 1st place in banking industry with its available natural resources for agriculture, natural air reserves, industries, port activities, and transport facilities. For this, District Administration as well as Bankers should put their efforts, he added. As a part of his visit, Governor participated in a meeting with bankers at Hotel Royal Park, Kakinada. Speaking on this, he suggested Bankers, Office Administration that necessary plans must be made and implemented accordingly, to make East Godavari District financially powerful in  the country. In the last 10 years, banking services have been expanded to a large extent in the country, he added. He also advised to appoint Damodaran Committee to provide effective services to customers and rules by committee must be clearly followed, he added. He also suggested that banking services must spread in rural areas. RRB Regional Director, Mr. AS Rao stated that following break in 90,000 acres crop and increase in manure prices has created less coordination between bankers and farmers. District Collector, Mr. M.Ravi Chandra stated that after Hyderabad, East Godavari District have nearly 43 Engineering, 3 Medical Colleges and developing in agriculture, industrial, educational and medical fields. In this program, Andhra Bank DGM AV Ramakrishna Rao, SBI DGM HL Mani, Lead District Manager S.Jagannadha Raju, NABARD AGM Somayajulu, various bank representatives were present.
