Kakinada, Jan 15^th: Rajiv Memorial Cricket Tourney organized by district youth congress under the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was bagged by Kakinada Team. In the final match held between the Rajahmundry and Kakinada teams on Thursday at local Rangaraya Medical College grounds, Kakinada team defeated the Rajahmundry team and bagged the title.

The final match took place very excitingly and the audience stared at the match very interestingly. Youth congress has organized the tourney under the names of the schemes that were taken up by the congress government. This is to bring awareness among the people about the different schemes of the state government organized for the welfare of the people.

Closing celebrations of the tourney were also organized on Thursday. MLA Muttha Gopala Krishna, P. Dora Babu, P. Nanaji were the chief guests of the celebrations. Later Muttha Gopala Krishna has given away the prizes to the winners. A cash prize of 5,000Rs was given to the winner’s team and 2,000Rs to the runner’s team. Man of the Match was awarded a cash prize of 500Rs. Participation certificates, caps and T-shirts were distributed to all the participants.

Deputy Mayor Arigela Srinivas, City youth congress president Sunkara Vidya Sagar, Corporator Nambu Srinivas, K.Srinivas and other took part in the celebrations.
