Rajahmundry, April 24th: Rajahmundry recorded the highest polling percentage among the other three constituencies in the district. East Godavari registered 77.94 percentage while West Godavari registered 84.01 indicating a heavy turnout of voters. In East Godavari, Kakinada parliamentary constituency registered a poll percentage of 75.96 while Rajahmundry registered 80.25 percent with a turnout of 12.60 lakh voters. Amalapuram Parliamentary constituency registered 78.59 percentage.
Re polling was ordered at a polling station at Pasuvulanka village of I. Polavaram mandal falling under Mumidivaram Assembly constituency on April 26. Initially the authorities has planned to organize the re polling on April 25 but due to various other reasons the same was postponed to Sunday. Due to the fault functioning of the Electronic Voting Machines there, the authorities have decided to conduct re polling. Mean while under the presence of election observers and part representatives the EVMs were sealed and stored safely in strong rooms.
