Kakinada, Jan 4th: The banth call given by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various student unions and the leaders irrespective of political parties for Samaikya Andhra passes off peacefully in Kakinada city and other parts of Kakinada region in the district, as no untoward incident was reported. However, according to call given by the JAC, they would hold rail roko at Samalkot and Rajahmundry railway station in the district on Tuesday. The TD leaders told media that they would hold the program by stopping the trains for maximum hours.

Urging the Center not to take any decision against the pleas of the Seema Andhra people, the members of the JAC and the supporters of Samaikya Andhra started appealing to the public to support the bandh and ensured that it was observed fully till Monday evening. However due to the bandh, all commercial establishments including shopping malls, money transactions centers, and even the offices of Center and state government departments were closed. Meanwhile several police personnel under the aegis of Kakinada DSP, Mr B. Atchyutha Rao deployed at main centers in the city.
