Rahul Gandhi to visit AP

Vijayawada, Nov 17th: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will pay a day-long visit to Andhra Pradesh on Nov 18 to interact with students in the state. Reaching Gannavaram Airport near here by a special aircraft from Delhi at 10:20 hrs, Mr Gandhi will come here in a helicopter. He will interact with Loyala College students from 10:40 hrs to 11:25 hrs. Mr Gandhi will leave for Warangal at 11:35 hrs for an interaction with the students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), officials said.

Mr Gandhi will leave for Tirupati from Gannavaram Airport by a special Aircraft at 14:20 hrs and would drive to Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) to interact with the students. Before leaving for New Delhi from Renigunta Airport near Tirupati, the AICC General Secretary will interact with students from Sri Padmavathi Mahila University (SPMU).

The Special Protection Group (SPG) had been deployed in the area of the Loyala College here for security reasons and heavy police have been made to prevent any untoward incident. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah will be on the airport to receive Mr Gandhi. The objective of Mr Gandhi's visit and interaction with the students is to have a first hand understanding of the priorities and issues concerning them. His visit would also boost the membership drive, launched recently by the National Students Union of India (NSUI).
