Tirumala, Sep 29th: Inspite of several protests from many political parties against the move to introduce Rs 300 quick darshan at the Tirumala temple, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) Trust Board, the highest decision making body of the world famous Venkateswara Swamy temple, today resolved to introduce the same from October 21 at Tirumala. After a two hour long Board meeting on Tuesday, the TTD chairman, Mr. D.K Aukidesavulu Naidu and executive officer, Mr. I.Y.R Krishna Rao, addressed a press conference at Tirumala.
Talking to newspersons Mr. D K Audikesavulu Naidu said Rs 300 ticket would be introduced for ''quick darshan,'' by stopping the Cellar and AAD darshan. Stating that the ''quick darshan'' tickets would be sold only at the Vaikuntham complex, he said the tickets would be issued on first come first serve basis. However, the issue of Rs 50 ticket would continue at all the TTD e-darshan counters (online) as usual. The Board thanked all the officials of TTD, police and district administration for the successful completion of the Brahmotsavam-2009.
