Kakinada, Dec 21st: Pulse polio program has been organized successfully around the district on 21st of December, Sunday. East Godavari District Gopala Krishna Dwivedi has initiated the program district wide by vaccinating the children between the age group of 0 and 5 at Yetimogga urban in Kakinada.
Speaking on the occasion collector said that, few cases of polio were identified in the state even after successive camps of pulse polio. He asked the concerned officers to create awareness among the people about the disease and educated all of them so as to rule out the disease completely.
MLC Nallimelli Shesha Reddy and MLA Mutta Gopala Krishna also spoke on the occasion. They shared their opinions and gave valuable suggestions. They showed their concern towards the children who were affected by polio and asked the parents to show love and affection towards those children and guide them to reach heights in their life.
District health officer Dr. Vijay Kumar said that, they were making complete arrangements to immunize the children through injective method of vaccination. In the district nearly 5, 72,442 children were noted below the age of 5. The government has arranged 3351 polio centers around the district. Additional D.M and H.O Dr Pavan Kumar, Dr. Murali Krishna, Dr Durga Raju, M.H.O Satyanarayana and many more participated in the occasion.
