Kakinada, Dec 9th: National immunization Mission (NIM) has declared the first round of pulse polio in the state on December 21 and the second round on February 2, 2009. The government has made this decision after a polio case reported in Kakinada.
This is the 14th phase of immunization in the state. The government is launching the polio programs in the state to eradicate the polio among the children between the age 0 and 5. In this campaign nearly 6.5 lakh children were expected to be immunized in the district with 125 vials of oral pulse polio vaccine.
The Andhra Pradesh Commissioner for the family welfare, Mr. Anil Punetha will conduct a review on Thursday at Hyderabad to oversee the arrangements of the program. He ordered the officers to go for arrangements without any disturbances.
