Prounited activists stage rail roko

Kakinada, Dec 17th: A large number of prounited activists of the Kakinada region participated in rail rokos at all important railway stations including Samalkot and Kakinada Town on Thursday as per the schedule of the protests of the district Congress party. The activists got onto four super fast trains including one at Kakinada Town railway station, amid slogans denouncing KCR and Chidambaram. Under the aegis of the Kakinada (urban) MLA, Mr Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar Reddy and the ZP chief, Mr. Ch. Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna and few other, activists stopped trains including the Chennai-Howrah Mail at Samalkot railway station for nearly half-an-hour.

Three other trains including the Pondicherry-Bhubaneswar Express, Prasanthi Express from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar, and the Circar Express which plies between Kakinada and Chennai was stopped for nearly half-an-hour at the Kakinada Town station. After leaving the station, the MLA continued his relay hunger strike at Balaji Cheruvu here for the sixth day. He gave a call for a district bandh on Saturday. Meanwhile nearly 2,000 students of government schools and colleges formed human chain at Gollalamamidala village of Peddapudi mandal. They burnt KCRs effigy amid slogans denouncing him.
