Protest peaceful in Kakinada

Kakinada, Jan 5th: The rail roko agitation organized in favor of Samaikya Andhra by the members of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various political party leaders and student unions, passes off peacefully in Kakinada region. The agitators stopped express trains at Samalkot railway station for nearly one hour amid slogans against the leaders who were in favor of formation Telangana. The rail roko stir was held following the call given by JAC of Seema Andhra at recent meeting at Vijayawada on last Saturday.

At the  Samalkot station, the agitators under the aegis of TDP leader and former minister, Mr. Chikkala Ramachandra Rao stopped Chennai Howrah mail demanding the Center to take a positive decision by considering pleas of crores of people. Meanwhile the police team led by the additional superintendent of police, Mr. Janardhan took the agitators including the leaders into custody and released them immediately.
