The agitators from Balram Singampalli and other surrounding areas, were staged a protest here on Monday, infront of the Collectorate, demanding to cancel the license for KPR Thermal Plant, which is being setup by the KPR Projects at Rangampeta mandal. A huge number of people have participated in this protest. The agitators made cooked food infront of the Collectorate in protest, by demanding the government to lift the criminal cases against 400 people, who opposed the plant during public hearing of the plant in the month of February. The agitators appealed to the government to declare the 400 acres land meant for establishing the thermal plant as prohibited area and not to give any permission for any constructions in the area to the company. KPR Thermal Plant Opposing Committee President Mr. T.Changala Rayudu and Leader Mr. N.Ramakrishna Reddy led the agitation. They submitted a memorandum to the District Collector on this.
