All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS) District unit with support of CPI party, staged a protest infront of the Collectorate, against Corporate Agriculture farming system, here on Wednesday. A huge number of Kisan workers were participated in the protest. They have demanded the government to address agrarian crisis with immediate effect. Raising the slogans against Corporate farming, the activists resorted to a road blockade. Speaking on this, the District President of AIKMS Mr. Raja Rao said that the policies adopted by the Central and the State Governments were throwing agriculture into crisis and the advent of economic reforms turned into a deathtrap for poor farmers. He said that the farmers were forced to commit suicide as they were not getting farm loans, seed, fertilizer and pesticides in time. “The government policies are not at all encouraging to continue agriculture. Instead of increasing subsides and supporting the peasantry, the government is reducing them day by day,” he added. Leaders of AIKMS & CPI were participated in the protest along with the Kisan workers.
