Hyderabad, Sep 16th: With the rise in swine flu cases in Andhra Pradesh, State Minister for Aarogyasri, Mr. Pithani Satyanaraya on Wednesday directed the private and corporate hospitals particularly hospitals networked under the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme to create isolation wards and make available needed ventilators by September 25. Talking to newspersons here, after holding talks with the management of Corporate Hospitals such as KIMS, Yashodha, Kamineni, Care, Apollo, Medwin, NIMS and others, the minister said the management had agreed to initiate steps and assured him to treat swine flu-affected people.
He said that nearly 90 patients were tested on Wednesday at Gandhi hospital, out of which six were suspected to be infected by H1N1 and in Osmania Hospital, 35 patients had been tested. He also said Yashoda Hospital would also have testing centre. He also informed that the government would be supplying swine flu tablets, medicines and Mask M95 to all, free of cost. The Minister also said out of the swine flu cases recorded till now, only 30 per cent of them below the poverty line and the rest were mostly non-resident Indians.
