Principals asked to increase enrolments

Hyderabad, April 20th: The principals of various government colleges were asked to increase the intake of students into the colleges for the coming academic years. Concerned with the low enrolment of students into the government junior colleges, the government asked the principals of respective colleges to take steps to increase the intake. The government said that the enrolment of students in streams like MPC, Bi PC, CEC and MEC should not be less than 30.

 

According to information there are more than 100 colleges in the state which has less than 30 students in certain streams. The government has facilitated the colleges by introducing spoken English courses and computer labs to attract the students. The BIE has asked the college principals to form admission committees in every college to improve the enrolment. According to the senior official of higher education the committee comprising of principal and two senior lecturers of respective college will visit all the schools in their area and interact with 10th class students and their parents and motivate them to join the college.
