Kakinada, May 4th: All the rythu bazaars in East Godavari will sell red gram at reduced prices. The Dal Millers Association of East Godavari will start the sale of best quality of red gram at Rs.52 and ordinary quality at Rs.44 per kilo from May 5. By reviewing the civil supplies, support price to paddy and uniform price for kerosene on Monday, the district collector, Mr. Gopalkrishna Dwivedi, said the civil supplies authorities should take proper action if any deviations were found in the sale of essentials.
Mr. Dwivedi directed the weight and measures department to take essential care in the weighing of paddy and safeguarding the interests of farmers. He also disclosed that food advisory committees will be activated to keep a close check on the supplies of essentials through fair price shops. The district supply officer Mr. Yesuratnam, the DM civil supplies corporation, Mr. Narasimha Rao, the assistant controller of weights and measures, Mr. Rajedraprasad and others attended the review meet.
