Pilli Subhaschandra Bose, the Social Welfare Minister said the Praja Patham program was aimed at solving people's problems like drinking water scarcity and deficient power supply. People should take part in the village meetings to be organized under the program, and take their problems to the notice of officials and MPs and MLAs. This facilitates taking of remedial measures in a transparent way. Speaking during the Praja Padham in the 5th ward of Ramachandrapuram municipality on Monday, Mr. Bose said the program would be on till May 14 with focus on problems related to drinking water, electricity, NREGS, Rajiv Arogyasri and 104 and 108 health care services. The program was scheduled in the summer to lessen drinking water scarcity and other problems that crop up especially during the season. Responding to people's request for sanction of ration cards and houses in the meeting at 7th ward, Joint Collector K.Sasidhar said the integrated survey covering ration cards and houses was nearing completion. New cards and houses would be sanctioned in two months from now. Ramachandrapuram municipal chairperson P.Jeevana Jyothi, Vice–Chairman T.Nageswara Rao, Municipal Commissioner Simhadri Appanna, Rajahmundry RDO Ch.Vinay Mohan and other people's representatives and officials took part in the meetings held in 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th wards.
