Kakinada, April 26th: G .Vara Lakshmi, pursuing her degree from local PR Government College is selected to participate in national sub junior’s hockey training camp that was going to be organized in Lucknow from April 20 to May 31. Lakshmi is one among 30 in the national level that was selected for the camp and the only one selected from Andhra Pradesh.
According to East Godavari District Women’s Hockey Association secretary and coach V. Ravi Raju, Vara Lakshmi has taken part in national level hockey tournament for eight times and in south zone championship for four times. She played a vital role in the tournaments as the captain of East Godavari District team. Speaking to the media, Lakshmi said that with the training given by the coach and the encouragement given by the parents, she was selected for the camp. District Olympic association president Padmanabham, DSDO Ravi and others appreciated Lakshmi over her achievement.
