Power point presentation on usage of EVMs

Kakinada, April 1st: For the smooth conduct of general elections that are scheduled to be held this month, one day training program was organized for both the returning officers and presiding officers at local Rangaraya Medical College auditorium on Wednesday. The training program was conducted by the former secretary of Election Commission and consultant, Mr. Ch. Ramabrahmam. Mr. Ramabrahmam created awareness among the polling staff by giving power point presentation on the effective usage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and on smooth conduct of elections.

 

Later speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramabrahmam insisted that the persons who come for giving assistance to the blind voters should be above the age of 18. To avoid confusion among the EVMs, he asked to paste white slips for parliament and pink slips for Assembly. He advised the returning officers regarding the allotment of seats to polling agents at the polling centers. He also asked them to be more alert during the time of polling to avoid any kind of disturbance and asked to ensure a free and fair polling.

 

Joint collector, Mr. Kona Sasidhar, Revenue officer Mr. M. Mohan Raju, Kakinada RDO Mr. G.C Kishore Kumar, returning officers, presiding officers and other polling staff attended the training program.
