Kakinada, Feb 11th: Aiming to provide better services to its costumers, the postal departments in the district are going to facilitate its services through internet. The customers of postal department can avail this facility of using internet to carry their activities with in no time. The program was taken in the East Godavari district by the National Informatics Center (NIIC) in a big way. Connection of the postal services to the website www.india.post.govt.in was taken up in 8 major post offices in the district.
This system of internet facility will help the postal department to improve its services in the rural and semi urban areas where minimum banking facilities are yet to be developed. With this new facility all transfer related works including the money orders are expected to be relatively faster than the present system. Postal departments say that the money orders can be delivered on the same day. The department is developing the services in a phased manner and as a first phase, 8 places were connected with this new facility.
