Hyderabad, Aug 28th: The endowments department has decided to launch a website in two months with details of jewellery and properties of various temples in the state. The minister for endowments, Mr. Gade Venkata Reddy, on Friday said the government wanted to maintain transparency by uploading all details in the website. He said that the government will take action against persons who indulge in misappropriation on funds and properties of the temples.

Telugu Desam and other Opposition members staged a walkout from the council, expressing dissatisfaction over the lethargic attitude of the government in protecting temple properties. Earlier the opposition members alleged that the government had failed to protect the temple lands. They demanded that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board be abolished since TTD members were involved in corruption and acted against the interest of the temple. However, Mr Gade Venkata Reddy had made it clear that there was no proposal to abolish the TTD board. He said the government would bring changes in the Tenancy Act to protect the temple lands.
