Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. V.Dinesh Reddy here on Saturday visited Kakinada. SP Mr. Trivikram Varma's wife Mrs Suvarna has inaugurated the police canteen which is newly established in Kakinada in the presence of DGP. Speaking on this, he said, the police canteen will be very beneficial to the policemen & their families as all the household articles and other provisions, including 2-wheeler vehicles, are available for sale with a tax rebate. He said, nearly 25,000 vacant police constable posts will be filled soon and the sub-inspectors to be given gazetted rank. Later, the District Police Welfare Association asked him to increase TA's of police personnel and take steps for speedy clearance of bills. The Association President, Mr. Balarama Murthy, submitted a memorandum to the DGP on Saturday stating that when the police personnel used to go to the police refreshment courses, the government has providing TA only for nine days which is not sufficient. He requested DGP to take more steps for the protection of police properties.
