Kakinada, April 1st: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university vice chancellor, Mr Allam Apparao and university registrar Mr. Ravindra requested the election authorities to give exception for JNTU as polling and counting center. For the polls and poll counting which are scheduled to be held in the district on April 23 and May 16 respectively, JNTU is one among the selected centers.
Mr. Apparao said that previously JNTU is only a college and now it turned to be a university representing 178 engineering colleges in eight districts from prakasam to Srikakulam. He alleged that with these elections huge disturbance will be caused to the previously scheduled programs which are going to be organized in the university premises. He requested the election authorities to look over the issue and act accordingly if possible.
