Candidates working as Public Health Nurse (PHN) in various health centers will be promoted as Community Health Officer (CHO). Andhra Pradesh Public Health & Medical Employees Union State Secretary, Mr. G.Aaskara Rao said this to news line here on Saturday. Speaking on this, Mr. Rao stated that with the help of GO No. 230, nearly 2000 women candidates across the State got promotion through their union. According to survey rules, total 598 CHO posts were vacant at present, which can fill by PHN level women candidates. However, PHN candidates need to complete 3 years, according to the survey. Nevertheless, according to the latest 8007 Memo released by Government, PHN who completed 1 year can be promoted as CHO. Mr. Rao also stated that PHN candidates who completed their 1 year service in the month of September, 2010 will be promoted as Gazetted Community Health Officers, he added.
