Kakinada, Mar 30th: For the phase I elections that are scheduled to be held in the district on April 16, the filing of nominations for the same was concluded at 3 pm on Monday. All together 19 nominees filed 33 set of nomination papers. March 30 being the last day 13 nominations were filed on Monday. Rampachodavaram is the only Assembly segment which is going for polls on April 16.
Candidates from PRP, Congress and Loksatha filed their nominations on the last day. Contestants from TDP and Congress parties filed extra set of nomination papers and submitted the same to the concerned returning offices. PRP candidate, Sithamsetty Venkateswara Rao filed 3 set of nomination papers. One set of nomination papers were filed each by S. Bojji Reddy, K. Chandramma as a dummy candidate, Kalum Buliamma from Praja Shanti Party.
The other nominees include K.KV.V Satyanarayana from congress, Chinnam Babu Ramesh from TDP, P. Malleswara Rao from BSP, Bapanna Dora from TDP (Dummy), Rathi Reddy from PRP (Dummy), P. Venkata Ramana Reddy as independent, K. Sudhakarbabu from Loksatha, Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Dora as independent, Karam Savithri as independent and few other.
