The district-level sports competitions for physically challenged persons were started, here on Tuesday at the District Sports Grounds in Kakinada, on the occasion of International Day of People with Disabilities (formerly World Disabled Day). According to this, the Kakinada Rural MLA Mr. Kurasala Kannababu have started these competitions. Speaking on this, he stated that the normal people should take these people as inspiration because it is not so easy to participate in sports with disabilities. These competitions were conducting for Athletics, Short Put & Javelin sports. Physically challenged students from various schools & voluntary organisations of Kakinada, Rajahmundry & Amalapuram areas were attended these competitions. Additional Joint Collector Mr. Markhandeyulu, Rajiv Vidya Mission Project Director (PD) Mr. Chakra Rao, District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) Mrs. S.V.Ramana, P.E.T's Mr. Bangarraju, Mr. Ravi Raju, Mr. Govinda Raju, Mr. Nookaraju, Mrs. Nagalakshmi and others participated in the program.
