Oil Companies hiked the price of petrol by Rs.2.35 per litre on Saturday, without taxes on firming international oil prices and the free-falling rupee. This is the sixth increase in rates in three months. The increase in rates, which will be effective from midnight tonight, are excluding local sales tax or VAT. The actual hike will be higher and will vary from city to city.
