Kakinada, Dec 17th: The Telugu Desam politburo member and former parlimentarian, Mr K Yerrannaidu, said that Union home minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram was solely responsible for the situation in the state by making an open midnight statement that the Center was initiating steps to give separate statehood to Telangana. Speaking to reporters at the party's district office here on Thursday late evening, he said that the issue of separate statehood to Telangana was not new.

But the Center took the decision by considering the pleas of a section of people and receiving some wrong signals from leaders of the state including KCR. However it was clear that all the people in the state were keen on a united Andhra. The results of the recent general elections had also made clear that event the Telangana people did not want separate statehood for their region.
