District Public Relation Officer, Mr.V.Ramanjaneylu while addressing media persons said that around 500 old artists in East Godavari District will receive their pending pensions of Rs.500 per month per head very soon. The scheme is applicable to artists above 60 years of age he added. The scheme is being implemented in the district from 1999 and its beneficial to the artistes of traditional instruments of the state. However, this time, nearly 500 artists had not received their pensions since July,2009 as the authorities did not get the funds worth of Rs.2.5 lakh from the government till now he concluded.
