The Village Panchayat Elections Notification and Schedule was released, here on Wednesday, by the State Election Commissioner Mr. Ramakanth Reddy. According to sources, these elections will be conducted for 962 Panchayats in East Godavari district. Nominations will be received from 9th to 13th of July from Morning 10AM to Evening 5PM. Scrutiny of filled Nominations will be conducted from 14th to 15th July. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is 17th July (before 3PM) and the list of contesting candidates will be published on 17th July (after 3PM). No holidays for respective government officials and other staff in these days. Election Code of conduct would come into force with immediate effect through out the state with the issue of election notification. These elections will be conducted in three phases on July 23, 27 & 31. Polling will be held from 7 AM to 1 PM under first phase on July 23, second phase on July 27 and third phase on July 31. The counting of votes will be taken up from 2PM onwards in the respective dates for all the three phases of elections. Here, the details of 3 phases elections in the district.
