Kakinada, Aug 9th: Minister of State for Defence, Mr. M M Pallamraju today said the Right to Education bill passed by Parliament paved the way for development of basic infrastructural facilities in all schools of the country. Speaking after inaugurating the Integrated Girls Welfare hostel complex, constructed at a cost of Rs 1.68 crore in Pithapuram town, he said both the Central and state governments were according utmost priority to education by earmarking adequate funds for it in their budgets.
During the last five years, the Union Government had allotted huge amounts for education and took special steps to inculcate discipline, ethical and moral values among the students, he added. Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare minister Pilli Subash Chandra Bose, who presided over the function said of the total 120 integrated welfare hostels sanctioned in the state, seven were sanctioned for East Godavari district and the construction of five hostels were already completed. The primary aim for setting up the integrated hostels was to promote national integration as students of all castes were accommodated there.
