Kakinada, April 1st: East Godavari District collector and District Election Officer (DEO), Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi gave orders to file FIR (First Investigation Report) on the polling staff who fail to attend the training camps. He ordered the concerned returning officers to take immediate action on those who fail to attend the camps by filing the FIR on them.
For the two day training program organized on March 28, 29 nearly 95 polling staff did not attend the classes. The authorities gave show cause notices to them. By finding no change in the situation the collector ordered to file FIR. With the orders given by the collector, the polling staff rushed to the training camp organized at local Ideal College on Wednesday.
Even the staffs which were under medical leave were also forced to attend the classes. Training on the effective usage of electronic voting machines and measures for the smooth conduct of the polls was given. Nearly 13 staff were absent for the classes organized on Wednesday. Collector revealed that immediate action will be taken on them. RDO, Mr. G.C Kishore Kumar also attended the training program.
