Kakinada, April 9^th: The election authorities (EC) have issued orders to accept alternative photo IDs in place of Electronic Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) as a proof during the time of exercising franchise by the voters. The voter who posses their EPICs can produce the same at the time of voting and those who do not have EPICs can produce any of the alternative documents mentioned by the EC, provided their name should be found in the electoral rolls.

Besides this the orders given by the EC also mentions that the documents issued under the name of the family head may be accepted as ID for other members of the family. The alternative documents mentioned by the election authorities are passport, driving license, PAN card, service identity card, pass books of banks/post offices, property documents with photographs, pension documents, caste certificates, arms licenses, freedom fighter identity cards with photographs, PH certificates with photograph, and any other identity with photographs.
