One more swine flu case found

Hyderabad, July 3rd: One more swine flu case was confirmed on Friday taking the total number of confirmed cases to 19 in the city. 30-year-old software professional that arrived here by the British Airways Flight BA-277, on Wednesday from Los Angles was admitted to the AP chest hospital with suspected symptoms of swine flu. The man throat and nasal swabs were sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) in New Delhi and the reports came back as positive.

 

The man was suspected of having symptoms of the flu during the mandatory screening of all international passengers at the Shamshabad international airport. He was quarantined and taken straight to the Chest Hospital, the nodal center to deal with swine flu cases. The health authorities have alerted the co passengers to look for symptoms and to approach the hospital if needed. Meanwhile the Chest Hospital medical staff denied reports that a 52-year old NRI, who was suspected to have contracted the flu and died shortly after he was admitted to a hospital in Kerala’s Kollam district on Wednesday night, suffered from HINI virus.
