An younger brother who tried to save his elder brother during electric shock was killed here on Monday. This incident took place at Parlovapeta near AMG School, Kakinada. According to police, 2 Brothers, Pithala Surendra (21) and Prasad (19) working in Nikhil Oil Refineries at Beach Road, Kakinada. As Sunday is a holiday, they stayed at their uncle’s house. After completing their dinner, they slept on the terrace on Sunday night. Surendra got up in the morning at 6:30am and out of laziness, he stretched his arms standing at the edge of the terrace. While he was stretching his arms, he touched 11KV power wire, which was near the terrace. As he was wearing Hawaii footwear and jeans pant, it was not a major shock. However, out of panic he shouted. Hearing him shout, his younger brother Prasad caught his brother’s leg and tried to save him. As, Prasad did not wear footwear and as he had contact with floor directly, there was major power shock to him. As both of them shouted out of panic, uncle rushed to save them but Prasad was already dead. He could only save Surendra who was severely injured. He was shifted to Government General Hospital for treatment with the help of 108. Port police had started investigation on this incident.
