Kakinada, Dec 23rd: All the 21 branches of LIC in both East Godavari and West Godavari district has observed one day strike on Tuesday at Main road post office area. Protesting against the introduction of bill in parliament to increase foreign direct investment in insurance sector in the country the officers has gone for strike.
Huge number of employees has turned out for strike. They raised slogans against the UPA government on this decision and protested against the employee’s insurance bill 2008. In this strike the joint secretary of LIC employees union MR.G Rambabu also participated.
He said that the government has taken this decision against the interest of the people. Mr Rambabu railed against the move of the government to go for the private sector when rest of the world is opting for public sector. The representatives of the LIC unions and many more participated in the strike.
