One day seminar at JNTU

Kakinada, Mar 23rd: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University has organized a one day seminar on Innovations in Environmental Technologies under Technical Education Quality Development Program (TEQIP) on Monday. The program was organized under the chairmanship of university vice chancellor, Mr. Allam Apparao. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Apparao stressed the need of protecting the people from cancer decease by detecting it in advance.

 

VC revealed the need of imparting technical knowledge in medical fields in detecting and eradicating the decease completely. He said that pollution and environment problems were also the reasons for increase in the number of cancer cases in both rich and poor people. Head of the department of Oncology in NIMS, Hyderabad, Dr G.S.N Raju also presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion he said apart from smoking and chewing gutka, alcoholism and hereditary are some of the reasons for rise in number of cases.

 

Dr. Raju said that the spread of disease was more noticed in south India in last few years. He revealed that with the advanced technology the decease can be cured if detected in early stage. General secretary of Indian Congress Association, Dr Ranjit Sen, Homeo specialist Dr Ashok Kumar, university principal E.V Prasad, vice principal G.V.R Prasad, TEQIP nodal officer A. Gopala Krishna and other participated.
