In order to mark the International Olympic Day, Olympic Run was conducted in association with the East Godavari District Olympic Association here on Thursday. Kakinada City MLA, Mr. Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy had launched the Olympic Run. Participating in the launching function, MLA stated that students of corporate schools are under immense pressure to achieve top ranks. In order to overcome any kind of pressure, sports will contribute a lot, he added. He also recommended every individual to participate in sports for two hrs everyday for better results. District Olympic Association Honorable Chairman, Mr. Y.D.Ramarao presided over this program. Speaking on this, he stated that along with Kakinada, this Run is being conducted in total 12 centers across the District. On this occasion, they grandly felicitated SP Trivikram. Later, SP Trivikram and MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy had lighted the Olympic torch and flagged off the rally. This rally proceeded towards Cancer hospital, Bhanugudi Junction and concluded at JNTU-K. At, JNTU College, torch was handover to Vice Chancellor of JNTU-K, Prof. Allam Apparao. Students from various educational institutions, NFCL employees and sportspersons participated in this Olympic Run. In this program, Olympic Association Organizer, Olympic Run Convener Dr.P.Chiranjeevini Kumari, Secretary K.Padmanabham, Town BJP President Sai, DSP Lakshmi Narayana, DSDO R.Ravi, Ball Badminton Star of India Talatam Rammohan Rao and others were present.
