The Olympic Day Run-2013 was grandly observed in Kakinada, here on Saturday. On occasion of 20th Anniversary of District Olympic Association, the run has been conducted at 20 mandals in the district, in the same time. Firstly, the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad as a chief guest, lighted the lamp and started the run at District Sports Grounds. The run was held towards Nagamallithota & Bhanugudi center areas and finally reached to Sports grounds in Kakinada. Speaking on this, Collector stated that the sports are very essential to every human being to develop physical fitness and mental relaxation in our daily life. She appreciated the Olympic Association for conducting this run every year, to create awareness on public about sports. Later, she has presented awards to the players, who shown their talent in summer training camp organised by the district sports authority, here. District Olympic Association President Mr. Y.D.Ramarao, Olympic Run Convenor Dr. Chiranjeevini Kumari, DEO Mr. Srinivasula Reddy, DSDO S.V.Ramana, ZP Ex-Chairperson Mr. Venu, Secretary Mr. K.Padmanabham and others participated in the run. A huge number of public were participated in the run with good sports spirit.
