Olympic Day Run 2012 was conducted here on Saturday by District Olympic Association in Kakinada. Around 2000 members from Kakinada were actively participated in this run. District Olympic Association has organised this run in Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Razole, Pithapuram, Tuni, Jaggampet, Samalkot, Kirlampudi, Ramachandrapuram, Divili & Kothapeta areas in the district. Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari, SP Mr. Trivikrama Varma, DEO Mr. Srinivasula Reddy and Association members started the run at Morning 8.30am from the sports ground. There after, Collector Neethu Kumari lighten the Olympic flame and given to SP Trivikrama Varma. In the inauguration meet, Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari stated, it was really appreciable that the Olympic run is being conducted for every year from last 20years in the district. She called upon the students to develop their interest on sports to built good health. Later, SP Trivikrama Varma said, 'iam happy to participate in this run for second time from the district'. DEO Mr. Srinivasula Reddy said, i wish that the participants number will increase for next year to the run. The run has been ended at Bhanugudi center. A total 11,000 members participated in this run from all over the district, said by District Olympic Association Convenor Smt. P.Chiranjeevini Kumari. Later, Dr. Y.D.Ramarao and Mrs. Chiranjeevini Kumari had given the Voluntary Participation Certificates to the participants of the run. In-charge DSDO S.V.Ramana, Ideal PD's Mr. Tatabbai & Mr. Varma, Hockey Association Secretary Mr. Ravi, PD Mr. Bangarraju, Stadium Coach's, Private & Government Schools PD's & Students participated in this run.
