The 18 days long “Odarpu Yatra” by Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in district was concluded this Thursday. In district, he consoled total 78 families and more than 250 statues of YSR were unveiled. Apart from this, he also met congress party senior leaders and YSR close relatives. However meeting in Kakinada had high expectations that there would be some political fireworks. This resulted to provoke an excited response from the people on Thursday. The venue of the meeting, Jagannaickpur was a narrow place for the people to be crowded. Women, children and youth climbed the rooftops to have a glimpse of their leader. After unveiling a bronze statue of his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Jaganmohan addressed for nearly three hours behind schedule. After Minister for Social Welfare Pilli Subashchandra Bose and City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy spoke Jagan started his speech. When he referred to the injustice done to his two hold back followers, Konda Surekha and Ambati Rambabu, tears rolled from the eyes of Konda Surekha, while Mr. Rambabu tried hard to control his emotions. People raised anti-government slogans when Mr. Jagan criticized the government for not extending any financial support to families of those who lost their relatives after sudden death of his father YSR. They also raised slogans describing the MP as the future Chief Minister when he spoke about the need for effective implementation of the welfare schemes initiated by his father.
