Kakinada, Nov 26th: The counseling for admission into MPHWF course for women nurse training was held peacefully here on Friday. For the counseling that started at Bennet Club on Friday morning, nearly 250 students from all over the district attended. East Godavari district joint collector, Mr. Kona Sasidhar and DMHO Dr. Vijay Kumar acted as the Chairman and Convener respectively.

The counseling held was first of its kind. Nearly 520 seats were available in 18 ANM ( Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) colleges that were situated in the district out of which 260 were free government seats and 260 were reserved under management quota. Previously the college management used to conduct the counseling and fill the vacant seats. But due to few lapses and allegation from the students about the counseling the district administration has decided to conduct the same in their supervision. There was huge demand for the course and the Social Welfare department pays Rs 12,200 as scholarship for each student.
